Zielsetzung

The students get an overview of the fundamental functions of management. They learn the basics about organizational structure and the basic ideas of Human Resource Management.


The students learn to apply their knowledge to real life situations and discuss it critically.


The students are able to familiarize independently oneself with new knowledge in this area, to present that to other students and discuss it.

Introduction: Functions of the Management (environment, actors, goals) (around 10%)

Lernergebnisse und Kompetenzen

After successful completion of this module, students will have acquired the following competencies:


ILO 1: The students know fundamental problems, concepts and methods of organisation and Human Resource Management. They can recall and describe them and point out the correlations between them.


ILO 2: The students are able to apply these concepts/theories to practical situations and put it into the correct context.


ILO 3: The students are able to work independently on new subjects and present their findings to other students


ILO 4: The students are able to apply their knowledge to new problems, question their ideas critically and present it.

Bemerkung

Verification of competence acquisition:


The assessment is a combined exam. It is composed of presentation (30%) and a written exam (70%, 90 minutes).


For the presentation a group of students has to work on a current topic and present this topic relating to the modul topics.


The written exam consists of several questions. The questions are composed of three parts. Knowledge questions, where students have to describe definitions or concepts. Questions of understanding where students have to explain interrelationships or adapt their knowledge to other topics or practice topics. Application questions where students have to apply, discuss and review topics.
